Dispatch from Hilton Head

Here's a picture of Molly that's a little less somber. I'll have some pics of the fambly and Hilton Head soon. The beach is really beautiful, very different from Cape May or Rehoboth. Broad and smooth. I've seen a snowy egret at the water's edge, and there a lots of pelicans. I miss the dolphins though. I think the water is too warm. It is like bath water, and strangely shallow for a great distance out. The jellyfish lurk too.

The biggest decision of the day for me is what to download to my Kindle next. What are you reading?

Sounds like a very enjoyable place. You'll have to give me details on where to stay.

On the Kindle, I have a biography of Ayn Rand. 20% though it and like it well enough.

I'm not a big fan of the Marriott, one-size-fits-all condo resort sort of experience. Russ is thrilled. Well, would be more thrilled with a restaurant/bar within walking distance, other than the pool bar. There's no "town," no culture. Bothers me more than Russ. The kids were bored. More later. I shouldn't complain. It's the beach, which I love.

I just picked up a new Michael Connelly book. If you like crime/legal thrillers, "The Lincoln Lawyer" is very good.

Just finished Water for Elephants - it was great! Love Hilton Head - did you go see Greg at Harbour Town? Shop at Shelter Cove? Sigh

@class factotum-- thanks for the recommendation. I'm trying out The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Kind of a slog so far. The Lincoln Lawyer sounds good, but maybe just because I can conjure Matthew McConaughey any time, at the drop of a hat. I love your blog, btw. Makes me laugh.

@beeutiful-- we didn't venture very far. Truffles, Hilton Head Brewing Company. I travel with a passel of boys, and shopping isn't often on the agenda.
